These little projects are great last-minute gifts any time of year, but they are extra perfect for their portability when you are traveling for the holidays. Easy knitting and crocheting, and ideal when you're on-the-go.
Sit out the mall crowd and make special little items for giving instead.
Top left: These adorable little crocheted hanging pockets make great air plant holders. Wonderful tiny gifts for hostesses or just your besties. Pattern: Cozy Crochet Air Plant Hanger by February Sky Designs. Our Silver Fox DK is a perfect yarn choice.
Top right: I love the texture of these puff stitch crocheted trivets; not only do they look modern and clean, but I kind of want to just squeeze them. Pattern: Farmhouse Trivet by Sarah Tattrie of Lamb & Co Designs. The pattern works with any weight yarn. We think our DK superwash merino/nylon blend would be best and make super cool gifts. I would personally start with Butterscotch.
Middle left: This bud vase crochet project upcycles a green perrier bottle into something that gives off antique glass fishing float vibes. If you've got a little summer cabin near the water, a few of these bottles would make for wonderful decor. Pattern: Perrier Bottle Bud Vase by Hayley Spencer. I would make these with unbleached cotton twine (affiliate link).
Middle middle: These stacked beaded bracelets can be knit or crocheted, and they give you an endless number of options for making them look just as you wish. Fun for accessorizing your own outfits and great little gifts, too. Pattern: Mingle by Laura Nelkin. For the cotton thread recommended, I would use the DMC brand. These variegated colors (affiliate link) seem perfect.
Middle right: This little heart stuffy on a chain is a fun charm to wear with a tank, or even to give to your favorite little. Cute easy knit. Pattern: Heart Puff Necklace by Lauren Riker.
Lower left: A cluster of colorful stacked knitted bracelets would complement the beaded ones, above, for an armful of fun. Bet you could knit up a dozen lickety-split. Pattern: Easy Knitted Bangle by Ambah O'Brien.
Lower middle: These coordinating black and white knitted coasters add a nice modern touch to any table, and would also be a wonderful gift. I love how each one is slightly different and yet they make a cohesive set. Pattern: The Croix Coasters by DeBrosse.
Lower right: This boho style textured pillow would look perfect on my sofa, and probably on yours, too. Pattern: Chunky Bobble Pillow by Margaret Stauffacher. We'd love to make this pillow in any of our bulky-weight yarn, but especially our Cherry Blossom.
